Best of Moab and Fruita Mountain Biking tour
Moab, UT
Spent an extended Labor Day weekend with my best bud Chris Giersch shredding around Moab, UT and Fruita, CO to explore the most well known and highly rated trails in Colorado and Utah.
Starting in Utah on the highest rated trail in the entire state and world renowned. We began at the shuttle drop off, peddling our way up to Burro Pass to start the 34 mile downhill. The Whole Enchilada starts in the alpine above tree line and winds its way down the sandstone canyon to the Colorado River. From dark soil to bright red slickrock, tight singletrack, and technical 4x4 roads; the Whole Enchilada displays all types of riding and soils types that Moab has to offer. This collection of five trails makes for a phenomenal 4 hour trail ride. Deciding the correct time of year and weather is another feat in itself.
As we rolled through the upper half of the colossal trail we watched as a large supercell began to build before our eyes. The wind was blowing due West and headed straight for us! It was only a matter of time until it would nail us.
The Rain came down in buckets... We just kept peddling to stay warm and of course not everyone had a rain jacket outa the crew.
Fruita, CO
We spent two days bouncing around all the Famous 18 Rd trails in the Northern Fruita Desert. Partly cloudy weather made for even more enjoyable riding the collection of tracks. We certainly made the most the tracks since half a were surrounding our campsite.
